Changing young adult lives one-by-one through love, faith, and fostering
About Us
Faith and Fostering was born from the hearts of leaders who wanted to make a difference in the lives of homeless young adults, specifically youth aging out of foster care. They came together to brainstorm ways to effectively serve this population and watched as God supernaturally formed Faith and Fostering through His network of followers. In March of 2020, Faith and Fostering was officially recognized as a nonprofit by the Secretary of State.
The Northwest Louisiana community pulled together in support as sponsors and partners generously gave to Faith and Fostering to aid in the support of homeless young adults. Three one-bedroom/one-bath apartments were donated to Faith and Fostering to house young adults while they worked on an individualized independent living plan and transitioned into adulthood. Also generously donated was an overwhelming amount of furniture and furnishings to fill the three apartments, and Faith and Fostering was able to begin serving homeless young adults! At this time, F&F operated through a two-phase model, and we were overjoyed to see more members of the community joining us in the mission.
In July 2020, the first Faith and Fostering young adult moved into an apartment in Bossier City, La. October 2020 was an exciting month for Faith and Fostering! A generous donation of a three-bedroom, two-bath home was provided to house three additional homeless young adults and a resident supervisor. 2021 was a year of growth! Our Launch and Send programs rapidly elevated organizational and mission awareness, and enrollment applications came rolling in. In January 2021, an Executive Director was hired due to God's grace and provision, and a Case Manager was hired in July 2021. As program structure and case management strengthened, young adults began hitting milestones and showing growth. God has faithfully blessed Faith and Fostering with the donation of a second three-bedroom, two-bath home, expanding our ability to serve more homeless young adults. In addition, He has opened the door for added office space in The Harbor—a ‘one-stop shop’ designed to provide vital services for families. In 2023, Faith and Fostering asked God specifically for two things: housing to serve young men and 5-10 acres to build a F&F tiny home community. He provided just that! In 2023, we witnessed God’s abundant provision. A third home—donated along with five acres—was added for Faith & Fostering’s tiny home community development, creating space to serve an additional 14–16 young women (with renovations now underway). Holly’s Haven—a home years in the making—finally transitioned into serving young women, and with this milestone came the need for additional staff support. 2023 was a BIG YEAR for us, and we knew we needed more help! At the beginning of 2023, our team consisted of just two employees. By the start of 2024, God had grown our staff to six.

At the start of 2024, Faith and Fostering operated out of two donated homes and three donated apartments, providing structured housing to help homeless youth move toward independence. However, in the last quarter of 2024, unexpected circumstances reduced operations to one donated home and two apartments. While this brought challenges, God opened new opportunities. A restructuring process began, and a third phase was added to the housing program, strengthening its impact as Faith and Fostering shifted from a two-phase to a three-phase model.
Little did we know, more changes were on the horizon in 2025. Due to the sale of the apartment complexes, the two apartments were lost, but shortly after, two generous partners stepped up, and Faith and Fostering was donated two additional homes. This expanded capacity to three donated homes for serving homeless young adults. Meanwhile, the tiny home community made significant progress—Phase 1 was completed with the renovation of the administrative site home, and Phase 2 began, which included clearing the land and groundwork for Phase 3, the building of the tiny homes themselves.
Alongside housing growth, a new initiative was launched: the Equip program. Designed to empower individuals in employment and career advancement, Equip provided training and partnerships to support trade certifications, increase earning potential, and build long-term stability. The program also offered an educational component, walking with individuals facing barriers but determined to pursue higher education. Through Equip, Faith and Fostering was able to partner with participants in applying to technical schools, trade programs, colleges, or associate degree programs, while also providing the wraparound services needed to help them succeed. Equip has helped us offer even more support for at-risk and homeless young adults. Combined with our Launch and Send programs, we're now able to make an even greater impact in Northwest Louisiana.

2025 is off to a great start as we continue to empower young adults toward independence, equip volunteers to serve alongside us, and faithfully carry out the vision God birthed in 2020. With growth has come the
need for more support, and today our team has expanded to eight employees, allowing us to keep growing and impacting our community in greater ways.
